Title: Heat Distribution tube
Post by: 33incanada on December 14, 2018, 01:29:08 PM
The 34 PF engine inn my 33 Deluxe 4dr was replaced sometime (??????) in its life and runs good.....no overheating. As I am working on dependability/brakes/ seals etc I have heard that the Water distribution tube can cause problems and Im considering replacing before spring trial runs on the Island.   Has anyone removed this?  How is it accessed? Can it be done without removing the timing covers or head?    I may have to trust it........if it is a major to replace ......as dont want rip it all down unecessarily? Thoughts ?

The water distribution tube was added when they went to the full length water jackets in 1935. If you have a '33 or '34 block then there is no water distribution tube (and the water pump to block passage is square instead of a half-moon shape).
