Is everyone using these pages currently a dues paying member of the POC club?
If not would you become one if the traffic here could be increased to where a lot more people participated and we could get/give a lot more answers?
who ever uses this forum has to be a member of the POC. It is a great place and full of knowledge, but a shame that it doesn't get used as much as it should. there are some very good people that post on here and are very helpful

I was not aware of the requirement that people posting on this forum be members of the POC. I don't recall any mechanism to check much less verify that information when I joined the forum. But that has been quite a while ago and maybe I've forgotten. Or maybe the rules have changed.
That said, I am a POC member.
I may be wrong, but I am sure you have to be a member. I will check with our new president and see what he says and I think Mark would know also
No, you do not need to be a member to join the discussion or the classifieds - on-line - we do ask you follow the guidelines and not post hot rodding or customizing here - this is for discussion of original and restored Plymouth cars.

Well nertz! :-[ I may have to vacate the premises. My 36 P2 is powered by a stock D2 that adds a whopping 16.5 cubic inches to the mix and has a 10" clutch to handle all that extra power! :D

I asked this question is because the club needs some changes and I have some ideas to contribute.
I repeat club policy - you have a valid point about changes but I don't make those decisions. I also will not boot anyone unless a club officer tells me to for "violating" the originality standards. I look at this and the Facebook page as a place of sharing information and promotion of Plymouth cars and the hobby.
I doubt there are too many owners of any classical car that is truly original. At this point I suspect most of us are happy just to keep our cars out of the crusher. I hope so, or else my 39 Plymouth may have to go, too, with its 54 engine, Dodge pickup tranny, Ford rims and radial tires, 12V Chevy alternator, Harley turn signals, plus a modern dashboard, wrong paint, and wrong interior. I never thought about before; I have one heck of a mutt.
Those folks who restored their cars prior to 1990's had a calk walk compared to us brave souls in the next century. Add in fewer resources and inflation and it is a pretty steep climb to be 100% original. I'm trying.

Yes and no. On one hand there are fewer original parts around to buy but on the other hand they are easier to find.
The Internet can hook you up with vendors you'd never have found back in the old days when you had to rely on a telephone, word of mouth and classified ads in magazines.
And with the advent of desktop manufacturing devices like computer controlled mini-lathes and mills as well as 3-D printing, some parts are a lot easier to make today than they were in the old days.
My 1940 Plymouth P10 Business coupe also has radial tires, a nice set of non stock 15" wheels, a rebuilt 1950 Plymouth engine after the engine that was in it ( 1941) when we got the car in 1988, a one wire alternator with a 12 volt system, which we did three years ago, and twenty year old Rustoleum Teal paint that is beginning to show a lot of wear, but I love the patina.
Like Tod mentioned, with the advent of the internet, it is so much easier than making phone calls and writing letters like I did when we first go the Plymouth.
I am very proud of my old Plymouth and not ashamed of it at all. I drive her approx. 2500 miles each year, along with in the winter time if the roads are dry.
she is not a trailer queen or show car, but a driver

Mine too is modified as a driver: boosted starter, electronic ignition, overdrive
and a lot of electric additions (theft alarm, power quarter windows, 2 6V Batteries,
additional (!) 12 V alternator and 12 V support battery, rpm meter, v meters
and radial tires. It is a jewel to drive!

I am a long term POC member and tech advisor for 1950.
I have a 51 Plymouth convertible which is a twin to Go's. In fact, his car carries a front fender spear which was
removed from one of my cars. This spring I am driving a 52 Fargo which is a truck sold by Plymouth dealers in Canada.
It has an R10 overdrive (installed by me ) first offered in Plymouths in 1952.
