Title: rear brake drum puller

Dear all, does anyone know where I could buy a rear brake drum puller? Or : does anybody have one idea how to fabricate a very solid one by my shop people themselves?

Go, I don't know if Germany has auto parts stores like here in the states, but if they do you should be able to ask them the chances of getting one
You could also go online to check out the following: Mac Tools JC whitney Jegs Sears automotive
Shipping might be expensive, but worth a try.

I have a drum puller that can be made. It is not like the ones that are moulded. But is similar in design. I have it on loan from a friend. I also would like to have one made. If I can get some time in the next couple of days, I will try to post a picture. One piece of it will definitely have to be machined with a Mill. Then there is the screw. The one piece is about one inch thick. (sorry don't know metrics). Maybe we can work something out. ;D

I just noticed this post, and I'm getting ready to take the PA to a local show, so I will try to post a picture of my home made puller tomorrow. Anyone who can cut and weld metal and has the use of a drill press can make one of these up in a couple hours. Bill james

(//)? OK I'll attempt to insert an image of my home made wheel puller here, wish me luck! This one is small, with a 4 1/2 inch hole circle, the pipe is 2 1/2 inch IPS, the flange is made of 5/16 inch plate. I can't remember what I made it for ??? Now I will have to make one for my 31 PA. I've made many of these through the years, mostly for old jeeps. Natrually I didn't keep one for myself. Good luck, Bill James

Bill?s puller makes a very solid impression to me. It even may be more sturdy than a stock one because having 5 holes. Will have my shop people make one!

Go, When I had to take off my drums I went to a truck repair shop and loand a hydraulic puller. It did cost me a box of belgium chocolats for the work force. I also hear of a trick to loosen the drum bolts/nut a little. Drive the car around the corner. This way the drum moves a little off the cone. Now you can remove the drums. Haven't tried this one myselve. Would like to hear the comment from anyone who tried it.
