Title: 33 Headlight Brackets
Post by: twpoulter on January 14, 2018, 04:26:03 PM

My PD headlight brackets fixing to the fenders, the Master Parts List I have is the June 33 revised edition tells me in section 8-Q the fixing studs are pt # 211261 or 614519 but in section 18-24 all the pt # start with a 1  . Now from the nut pt #120369 that's a 3/8" x 24 Cad plated so by rule of thumb the other end would be 3/8" x 16 into the pot metal bracket.
Thing is what would the length be?

Hopefully Tod has his ref. books with him to solve what looks like a printing error to me provided I'm reading the parts book right.

It is even more confusing looking at the 1928-33 Master Parts Book issued in 1934 the "Stud (to fender)" part has 4 different numbers:

211261 for PB, PC up to 1817101, and PD up to 2121001
614519 for PC from 1817101 to 1846751 and after 3000610 (U.S. Built)
618518 for PC after 1846751 (U.S. Build)
618485 for PD after 2121001

My car's serial number is 208nnnn, so it should have the 614519 part according to my books. That said, I've not noticed any difference on the headlamp stands/brackets that I've looked at or the studs needed to mount them. On the other hand, I don't know that I have looked that closely as I was not expecting a difference.

On my car, the studs that hold the bracket on appear to be course thread on the casting side with about 1/2" threaded.

OK great research as usual, mine is serial # 2138XXX, according to that I need pt # 618485 . I even looked in my 34 revised issue but when I went to section 18 it told me that Standard Parts are listed in the April 34 issue. The PE used different length studs on each bracket.

Thank you Tod.
