Title: 1933 PD Rubber Grommets and N/C Industries
Post by: 33plycoupe on May 10, 2006, 11:15:34 PM
I was able to obtain the rubber grommets for my 33 Plymouth PD R/S Coupe for the rear bumper and the spare tire bracket from N/C Industries. I too, could use a new floor mat for the car. N/C Industries stated that their was a dispute over ownership of the dies several years ago, and they were thrown out without their knowledge. They have no intention of making them again at this time. When they were manufacturing them they expected to sell several thousand. As it turned out, they were only able to sell several hundred. Perhaps if they received several thousand emails, they would reconsider their decision. The company representatives were pleasant to talk with, and very helpful. I would recommend them.
I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a commercially manufactured grommet that goes on the steel bar support that goes through the body from the spare tire?

I could have sworn that I got the one for my two door sedan from Steele Rubber but I don't see it in their on line catalog right now.

Bob,

In the 2006 Steele catalog, I find this listing:

"1933-34  Grommet, rear spare wheel carrier.  Replaces #601619.
Some models require 3 pieces (1-1/2 prs).  Chrysler CA, some Dodge &
Plymouth, possibly others."  Their part number is 40-0141-37.
Their price is $55.80/pr.  This is the only entry for a rear spare tire
carrier for the 1933.  There are two listed for the 1934.  Maybe you
should call them and describe the part that you need.
