Title: Clutch size,
Post by: Fryberger on December 06, 2017, 08:06:50 AM
My '51 Concord business coupe may need a new clutch. As I look at the shop manual, it lists several different sizes and number of springs. 9 1/4" with 9 springs, 9 1/8" with 6 springs and 10" with 9 springs. How might I know which one I should purchase? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rather than purchasing, the couple of times I needed to do clutch work I simply took my pressure plate and disk to the local "brake and friction" shop (the ones the retail brake repair places use) and had the disk relined and the pressure plate rebuilt.

Pull your clutch disc and pressure plate and send to Ft. Wayne clutch
in Ft. Wayne, In. They are about the best in the business IMO.
I have no connection other than they have done a few for me.
