My 51 Plymouth cranbrook clutch pedal engages too high
I'd like to lower the point when clutch engages
Any suggestions on adjusting
What can I check to be sure there are no other problems
Thank you mario
My copy of the 1946 to 54 factory service manual simply says:
QuoteOne inch pedal free play is necessary to insure proper clearance between the release bearing and levers. To adjust the clutch pedal free play, turn the clutch release fork rod adjusting nut until 1/8 to 5/32 free play in the clutch fork is obtained. See Figure 1. This adjustment, if correctly set, will give the necessary 1 inch free play at the pedal
The next paragraphs cover the clutch pedal stop screw which they say should not be disturbed as it will affect the over center spring, etc.
Do You have a Service manual?
You will always need one. Al least try to get a copied one.
If You want, I scan 5 pages for You and e-mail them to You!
Too much to insert here.
