Title: Need a good body shop in Delaware
Post by: delaware39 on February 17, 2017, 10:07:54 PM
My 39 was involved in a nasty 4 car collision last week. The other three cars are totaled and their occupants carted off to the hospital. I'm fine and the beast needs some hopefully minor repairs. Don't make 'em like they used to. The car was raked from front to back and damaged the driver side front and rear fenders and both doors. The left front now has a vibration when I go over 40 mph that was never there before. I had love any suggestions of someone trustworthy to do the repairs in the northern (New Castle County) Delaware or lower Pennsylvania area. I'll probably get the approval from Hagerty some time next week to get things patched up. I know - pictures. I'll try to post some tomorrow, but there's  not much to see. Thanks in advance.

I hope you weren't hurt too bad.
L&P Restoration in Clinton, MD. did a nice job on
my friends 69 Camaro. May be too far away
from you but worth a try.

Here is their website:

So sorry to hear about the accident. Glad to hear though that you are well enough to tell about it!
My only suggestion would be to contact Warren Nelson, who is the contact for the Delaware Valley Region of the Plymouth Owners Club.
He lists his email as    I do have a contact phone number, that if you would like it, private message me and I will supply it. Just do not wish to put it out there without his permission.
Wishing you the best dealing with Insurance Companies. Sometimes it is a smooth sail, and other times,,,,,Well, not so much.
Keep us all posted on the progress!

I've been following some recommendations from car people in the area and am waiting on estimates. Hagerty has already sent me a check that should more than cover the damages. I'm thinking of repainting the whole car. Does anyone know what color "amphibian green" or "aquamarine blue" really look like? I've been looking at some the paint chips for sale on eBay and every picture has faded to a different color. I never really liked the silver & black theme at is on the car now.
Most of the body shops suggested that I might want to find replacement fenders. If anyone knows of a decent driver side front and/or back fender within a few hundred miles of Delaware, please let me know. There's a front one on eBay in Tennessee, but it's local pick-up only and I'm almost 600 miles away. Thanks for your interest and help.

Have you ever given thought to using Greyhound to transport that fender?   I had one transported from California to here in the Catskills much cheaper that way

Food for thought

P.M. sent as to a possible source for your replacement fenders.
