Title: Carburetor rebuild
Post by: Gary Vickery on July 20, 2016, 12:05:05 AM
When I bought my 35 PJ Deluxe, the previous owner had a carb rebuild kit in a plastic bag, said he intended to do it but hadn't.  It is leaking fuel badly from the carburetor so it is time for me to rebuild it.  The kit is for a Carter, model BB.  On the carb it says it is a Carter Model C6D.  Before I tear this thing apart I want to be sure I have the right kit.  Is the BB a universal designation that will work on this carb?  The number stamped on the front of the engine block appears to be PJ4901.

You might try Mike's carb. parts online.  he is showing a great listing of carter carbs and parts.  Also a B and B rebuild DVD.  greg

Well, the kit I had was not the right one, but the problem turned out to be the float anyway.  It was half full of fuel and not properly adjusted.  Works a lot better now.
