Need help getting the wiper and cigar lighter off the back of my 41 SD dash. Neither seem to screw off, and can't find any release mechanism at all. Any help appreciated. Cheers
For the wiper, first gently pull the ivory knob straight off. Follow the post that is left behind down to the escution plate on the front of the dash. You will find a chromed, round/flat nut. Sure, it does not look as if it is a nut, but it actually is. There is a tool to remove this nut, but the tool is about impossible to find. CAREFULLY, wrap that nut with some cloth, and gently, with a pair of pliers spin the nut off counter clock wise.
Your lighter you will be removing from the underside of your dash. There is a 3 to 4 toothed tin "sleeve" that surrounds the entire unit. Grab the sleeve with just your hand and spin off counter clock wise. There will be a 1/4 inch nut that you will see from the underside of the dash also that will need to be removed.

Got the wiper piece off this morning, and did so without the tool. I think the lighter has corrosion holding the back piece on, gave it another shot of PB to soak overnite and will try again tomorrow. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.
