Hi, I have an unrestored 36 P2 Bus. coupe and I'm new to ancient Plymouths and this site. Though I need lots of info and a number of parts to get mine on the road I have longshot question for the members.
I have had a long time interest in the coupe pickup option and am looking for info- details- photos of the Plymouth bed as described on the allpar.com site. It is different from the Ford and Chevy units as it can hide in the trunk with the lid closed or be pulled out beyond the bumper.
I did contact the POC commercial tech adviser who had no information on it. Does anybody have one?

I may be wrong, but I think 1936 was the only year that this was offered
From my research Plymouth offered it from 1936 to 1939 but it was never a popular option with the buyers. Chevy did for the same years and Ford for one. Trying to post pics from allpar. Found it! http://www.allpar.com/history/plymouth/delivery-and-commercial-sedans.html
This bed was also offered for emergency vehicles. A stretcher could be set in the bed with the compartment door open for the persons head to be inside the car in bad weather! This one is fitted in a 35 Plymouth.
Have seen various photos and prints of this type of vehicle but never thought it was an option. Will watch your progress but feel with limited numbers you have a mountain to climb.
