Wheel Sizes and Bolt Patterns
I was wondering if anyone could help identify what these wire wheels are for based on the sizes. I am assuming they used different sizes for different years.
My book goes back to 1928 where 4.75x20" wood was standard with 20" optional wires. It looks like wires were optional on 1929 and up in sizes from 19" down to 17". But around 1934 there seems to be a switch to artillery wheels that were (depending on model) 16"x4" or 17"x3"). The wire was optional that year at 17x3".
I would say 18" and up were from 1928 and back

He has a column with wheel bolt pattern sizes. I don?t know how accurate his data is or where he got it from, but it looks good!

I don't know about the 1928-31, but from 1933 (and I think 1932) up a five bolt pattern was used. My understanding is that it is the same standard Mopar bolt pattern used at least into the 1970s
The 4x18 5 lug was on the PB--1932, and a 17" was optional.
