Title: Replacement Parts for Standard Transmission

I own a 1948 Plymouth, built in December of 1948. The car was built with a factory installed P-18 engine. I have a standard transmission numbered 1138238-8 (defective 2nd gear) that we have removed and will be restored by a professional transmission shop. I need help identifying whether my transmission is identical to a P-15 or whether the P-18 and P-15 are the same. Do you know of any vendors that have these gears for this tranny? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Paul Tagler

I got Bernbaum?s tranny parts for my 51 a couple of years ago - I?m always satified with them since 1996. Andy is out himself now, as far as I know. The new people are very interested in their business too!

Yes, Andy sold his business, but the new owners kept the business name. They are interested in helping their customers also, so far I am pleased with them
