I've ordered new rear spring shackle bushings for my 38 coupe. They replace a two sided home fabricated bushing (previous owner).
In the parts book the left and right side PN's are not the same (rear of right 939716; rear of left 939717). Since the PN's are not the
same I suspect the threads are different from one side to the other. Can anyone tell me left and right and top and bottom
configurations for the bushings. For example .... the right side (Pass) are both RH thread. Top vs bottom doesn't matter.
The Left (Drv) is RH on the top and LH on the bottom. Both are installed with the U facing toward the center of the frame.
The above is a guess. I have no idea if it's right or not. I'm guessing if I don't get them in right they will unscrew and disconnect
from the spring or frame resulting in an accident. Can anyone help? I've looked in the service manual and did not find any directions
concerning orientation of the bushings. The parts book doesn't mention it either. Thanks! Glenn
