Title: Diner burns to the ground
Post by: RC Drown on July 03, 2012, 09:29:49 PM
Here is a short clip of the Rainbow Diner in Kerhonkson, NY that burnt to the ground yesterday. It has been a local eatery since 1947.

My good friend Rich and I would meet there for breakfast and drive our old Plymouths.

Hey Bob, Another old timer bites the dust. darn shame to see these old building disappearing, almost a bad as seeing old cars disappear. When I travel I like the atmosphere better than most of the newer one. Thanks for posting.
Take care of you

Hey Bob,

Sorry you lost your diner. My hangout when I was a teenager was the IGLOO (Peru, IL), which started in 1937 and is still going.

Hi Bob,

Oh well !! Another familiar place gone.  Hiked the trails in Kerhonkson so I must have stopped in at one point or another.  After spending a couple of days in the woods there is nothing that says welcome back like a local dinner.   What a shame.
