Title: fuel syslem

I need informaltion regarding where the spring is located on the carb linkage to keep
it in the off position, prior to stepping in the peddle..

It would help to know what kind of carb on what year, make of vehicle

Sorry about that; a 1940 Ply with a Carter carb.

Here are two photos of my linkage to the carb on my '40.  I won't say it is correct, the old thing runs good and still gets from Point A to Point B and back again

John, Attached picture of my 39 model, the linkage looks the same as Bobs 40, maybe your spring is on the same place as the 39. Blow the picture up a bit and you can make out the spring, between the soft plugs.
Bob, shame on you, is that a dry type Air Cleaner, not an oil bath. lol

Yupper, it was on the car when we got it almost 24 years ago, works just fine  :) :)  I may be mistaken, but I also think it is correct also for 1940
