Title: Points for 1934 Plymouth==PE==new info
Post by: on April 19, 2012, 06:20:39 PM
OK,   here is info from distributor.   Chrysler part number is 1300795.     Auto Lite on tag.       Tag also says 'Splash Proof Distributor'.
It also has another number and a serial number(hard to read).
I need points for this distributor.  Any more help appreciated.
Bob

Hmmm. That is a higher number than the 1120567 used on the '46-'59 Plymouth P-15 models. Might be an early 50's distributor... I'll look in my '46-'54 factory service manual tonight to see if it lists something that matches up.

I typed that P/N in the site www.nosmopar.com and searched, and it shows up as a vacuum advance for 42-48 Chrysler/Plymouth/Dodge/Desoto.

The '38-'48 parts book numerical index does not show that number at all.

It does, however, show up in a table on page 98 of the '46-'54 factory service manual as associated with a Auto-Lite IAP 4102 A-1 distributor. Not clear if it is the vacuum advance part number or the distributor part number based on the table.

There is also a note on that table regarding part 1308206 for the Auto-Lite IGS 4207 B-1 that it is "not serviced, superseded by part number 1300795." So I guess it is a vacuum advance and it might be found on either of those two distributors.

I'm wondering if "Splash Proof Distributor" refers to a military Dodge (M-37), or a civilian Dodge Power Wagon?

Todd, that would be my guess.  I looked up the IGS-4207 on this site http://www.hagensautoparts.com/search/?search=igs-4207
It shows the A-1/B-1 distributors.  If you click on one of those links, it shows an aftermarket P/N for the vacuum advance, but not the 1300795, which is probably the Mopar number for the advance.  Lee
