Without having actuated anything that moment, in the corner behind my peals I found this coil spring with the long end eye broken off!
Where may it have come from??
Seat guide adjustment (spring seems far too soft)
Hand brake is working (parts book shows no spring)
cowl vent cover (parts book shows no spring)
wiper assy (parts book shows no spring)
Model 505 Heater (no exploded views found)
(can?t check function at the moment)
Defroster (no exploded views found)
Thanks for helping!

Go, On my 1939, there is a spring that looks just like that one. It hooks to the bottom of the seat, (to the rear of the seat, slightly off center) then to a " L " shaped bracket fastened to the floor boards (under the seat). It helps move the seat forward, or keeps the seat level when moving it to a new posistion. You didn't say what vehicle you are referring to, however, my 1939 pictures attached. I happened to have the seat out and had a time getting it out until I found this spring attached. lol Hope this helps.

Thanks, Glenn,
The spring on the rail seems much stronger to me, that one in the middle seems to have the same strengh than mine, but is longer.
Anyhow, that is a hint!
