Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas, being as I could Not find a decent project (Plymouth) to work on this winter I worked on this old Cupalo. Before and after picture attached.
Finished picture of the cupalo, minus the weather vane yet. I realize this does not have wheels, but is just as "old" as my Plymouth. lol I like old things........

Nice work, Glenn. I suppose that you learn some skills needed to
restore a cupalo while working on an old Plymouth, ane vice versa.

I notice as I am getting older I am starting to like the ladies my age. lol
I am going to pull the engine from the 1929 coupe, I have that slight rattle I still haven't fixed (Not bearings)
I will rebuild the engine all the way, I might install an other 4 cyl to use untill I am done with the original engine.
I want to keep the original in this car.

I finally got the cupalo finished, next is to get it on top of the
Garage. If the weathers stays this nice I may not have to wait till
spring. lol The Pheasant turned out real good, looks good on the top,
it even works, maybe, I'm not sure where North is from here. lol
Anyhow, these should be the last photos till I get it up top. (the
Pheasant is SD State Bird) Now I can concentrate on getting the engine out of the Plymouth. I wish you all a Very good New Years

On the cupola, is the N/S/E/W stationary and does the pheasant spin and
point into the wind? Or, how does that work?

You were correct on both counts. The main trick to putting one of these up is to have the base totally level in all directions, and having a compass to make sure the N (north) is to the north. The rotating shaft in the Pheasant has to be perfectly vertical or the bird won't point right. Thanks for the interest and comments.
