Eisenbahn Journal is one of a dozen Railroad periodicals in Germany.
This one is an extra edition on "autos as baggage" on Auto trains
My model railroad hobby partner Egon Pempelforth shot the scenes of page 47 in the D?sseldorf Car Station on July 22nd 2007, loading my P23 for my Auto - train travel to Frejus, Cote d Azur, France.
The Title shows an Oldsmobile, with suiss(?) licence plate, very rare here, and foto 3 shows the old D?sseldorf Auto terminal 1960 (?), with an array of exotic cars, among them a 57 or 58 Ply "~ Christine" and Valiant (?) Station withe red D?sseldorf dealer?s Licence plate: we had a very strong used - and -new car " Auto Becker" business here, until bankruptcy a few years ago. Maybe official Bundesbahn fotografer, Mr. S?uberlich, had made a deal with Becker to have a few special cars on his pic.
The last car is a DKW 3=6 station, a 2 stroke 3 cylinder engine as good as 6 cyl on a 4 stroke... The Opels and Ford are true US- Styling.
Greetings from D?sseldorf!
