Title: 1950 & 1952 Suburban
Post by: Chilly on October 09, 2011, 04:01:21 PM
Does anyone know if the hood, front fenders and grill of a '50 Suburban can be interchanged with a '52?  Thx.

I believe if you look closely you will find the cowl line is different, and there fore the sheet metal that abuts to it. This has been discussed elsewhere and I beliieve the consensus was negative.

Thanks,  I only have pictures to go by and thought the cowl line looked the same since they both have the cowl vent and the line is angled.  I also wondered if the inner fender wells might present a problem.

I just really like the pointed hood on the '50 more than the flat nose of the '52.

Thanks again.

They are not interchangeable.   Even the doors are different as the 51-2 body gets wider starting at the B pillar and is about 3 inches wider across the headlights.
