Title: Turn Signal Indicator (Green) Light
Post by: dickf1976 on August 09, 2011, 10:53:48 PM
'56 Plymouth w/ auto. trans. and V-8. When the engine is running, the turn signal indicator light glows green, even when not using the turn signals. I tested the turn signals -- both front and rear "parking lights" and taillights blink when the indicator is positioned up or down. I never noticed a constant green glow. Q - Should the light glow when the engine is running, and if not, what could be causing it to glow when the stalk is in the neutral position? Dick Friedman, 847 256 1432, .

are you using a three prong flasher...the bi metal switch is NO and NC contacts..something could be amiss within the unit..a quick simple uplug of the flasher will tell you more..

I have the same green light on in my 55 Plymouth. I had a mechanic check it and he could not find anything wrong. As ling as the turn signals work, and the green light flashes when the turn signals are on, I am happy.

it is likely there is a bad ground somewhere in the stop tail park or signal circuit and a small current is making its way back to ground through the pilot light.... or, you have the other two terminals on the flasher reversed.
