Title: Spark Plugs & Ever-Dry Kit
Post by: Gaby51 on August 02, 2011, 10:06:35 AM
Another "dumb" question from a newbie, but I recently bought the "Ever Dry" kit to install on my '54 Plymouth's engine.  Along with the kit, I also bought new spark plugs, and it occured to me tI didn't know what to do with the spark plug's crusher/washer!  Do I have to remove those washers when using the Ever Dry metal cups?  Do I need spark plugs with a longer reach/seat?  Do I have to tighten them more or less or the same as if I didn't have the Ever Dry kit?   ???
It all seems so simple, but since this is my 1st old Plymouth, and flat head engine, I honestly don't know how to do some of these "simple" tasks correctly.  Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.  :)

Nope, just the parts.  They're easy to install, I'm just not sure about the Crusher/Washer.  :(

Looking at the factory Installation Instructions sheet that is in one of the "MoPar EVR-DRY Sheilding Service Package" I have in stock this is what they say on line three.

"Remove and discard spark plug gaskets as they are not needed and (underlined) Must Not Be Used With Spark Plug Mounting Bases."
