Title: torquing cylinder head

What is the recommended torque valve for a 4 cylinder head?

If you go to Tod Fitch's web site, www.ply33.com/Repair/torque , I think you can find the info you need. It pretty well give most of the info on torque values as known at this time.

But not, I am afraid to admit, for the four cylinder engines. If the four cylinders used the same studs and nuts as the PC/PD I'd have suggested using those torque values. However the part numbers are different....

Think I remember who, but not sure and don't want to give his name, but was told to do the heads at 70lbs torque. Replaced my head gasket and no problems.

65 to 70 foot pounds, but mote important is the sequence which essentially radiates out from the center-most bolt.  Do it again HOT.  dp

torque loadings are usually determined by the size of the fastener and the pitch of the threads. Should be able to look up charts on the web.
