To my fellow Plymouth fans. I have a 1948 Plymouth P15 Deluxe Coupe. I replaced the wire hanness some 15 years ago with a top quality harness. A year or so ago I noticed that my low beam head lights were not working. I suspected the dimmer swith to be the problem. Replacing the dimmer switch did not fix it. What I did find was that with the dimmer swith removed from below the floor board I could slightly twist the wire by turling the dimmer swith upside down and the low beams worked properly. Once again the low beam lights will not work . I tried removing and twisting the wires again but the low beams wiil not work. Can anyone suggest how I might start to find the problem. Having this head light problem is preventing me from taking my car to any night time car shows. Respectfully R. John Fleming
Have you determined whether you are getting power to the junction block and out to the headlamps??? have you powered the block with a jumper wire? Do you have a good ground at each lamp? The dimmer is basically a two position switch, so maybe you might want to try switchig the leads at the switch. one run low one runs highs, and it really doesn't matter which one goes where.
