In restoring my p8 I found under the platforms these two utensils....
are they funny?
are they strange?
my mechanic asks: what are these bars? to thing they serve?
I believe that they served to stabilize the car in the winter raced (it skidded) on the snow.
The two aluminum wands are exactly as the guides of a sleigh!
Fantastic P8!!
hi to everybody
Sebastiano
Running board radio antennas ????
Pat O'Connor
Yes !
Radio antennas. In aluminum
well isolated from the body and connected with a thread.
Exact, I now understand well
thanks
Pat
I wonder how it works
I can understand and to imagine how it works but my mechanic, with which I discussed the mechanism, he told me that here it will never work.
I live in a ground of volcanic origin, the ground and the basaltic rocks they are fonoabsorbing and don't reflect the electromagnetic waves.
I will assemble the car according to the original construction.
Later I will make the test if it will work...
bye and thanks
Let us know how it sounds
If AM radio in Italy (or the rest of Europe) is like here in the states, you are probably better of not listening. Polical extremists, Religious Zelots, Sports Talk fanatics, and endless product commercials, and few and far between oldies shows. And a lot of static.......
Perhaps you would be better off with this style. Look closely at the roof of the grey sedan. Yes that is a period accessory aftermaket Am redio antena.
Probably to replace the rusted out one uder the running board.
Other cars used them also, from a Buick parts place, here are some insulators.

Many thanks to everybody
when I will erassembly the car I will take all this notes.
At moment I'm looking for the dashboard, the old panel is too old, decolorized and I need to repaint it as the original.
I have to look to find some company able for this work.
Bye
Sebastiano
