Being that it has been a colder than normal winter here, I have burned more firewood than normal, I got this load ( a full cord) of seasoned wood yesterday afternoon. I started carrying it to the basement, came in to take a break, while carrying wood, my wife had made a yellow cake with Chocolate frosting, so needless to say I even took advantage of a decent day and had my cake on the back porch. Oh yes, I did go carry more wood to work off the cake:):)
Yellow cake with chocolate frosting, yummmmmmmmmmmmmmy!!!!!! And a glass of milk I hope.
Brian
Yeah, right, I'm jealous as all get out. I Love Cake. I don't have to chop wood any more, SD finally got modern enough to supply us with electicity, so needless to say, I'm getting soft as a baby..... outside of shoveling snow, we have enough of that to get me exercised up good I guess. Hope you didn't forget to give your significant others a valentine, I didn't forget, but, FEDEX was supposed to deliver it (she lives in Rapid City - 350 miles from me) and she hasn't got it yet so I'm in the dog house. Guess I'll live through it, specially if she gets it tomorrow......... Hope you all had a great day, and your spouse/significant other.
Take care,
Glenn
Glenn,
Oh my yes, I remembered my wife yesterday, got her a dozen roses and even took her out to supper last evening, sat by the fireplace while we were eating, the heat sure felt good.
I know I have mentioned this before, but I spent a week in Rapid City, a beautiful city and I must admit, South Dakota is a nice place to visit
There was an old firehouse converted into a brewery that we partook of a few brews and food, a very nice set up there.
Hi Bob,
Great, yes, I have been to the Fire House, it is still there, A sports Bar now, is that what it was when you were there? Also, the Junk yard you mentions a month or so back, that is there yet also, I wander around there once in a while, they never have anything new, but they have a lot of old cars there. amazing. I never looked for Plymouth stuff particularly, but I will this summer. They do chop the weeds down once in a while so it is not to hard to walk around. LOL Rapid City is a pretty nice place, then the Sturgis Motorcycle rally every year is amazing also, then Rapid fills up with the Bikes too. They have some beautiful bikes..... They have a few "Old car" shows and meets there every summer too, mostly Model "A"s thou.
Later,
Glenn
Glenn,
I found these photos that I took the day Josh and I stopped in at both the Old Fire House and Moore's.
You can see my arm in Josh's passenger side mirror as I took the photo at Moore's.
We drove by Sturgis on the way to Deadwood and Lead and Spearfish. There was a road that took us thru some canyon, but I don't remember the name of the Canyon, but it was beautiful.
Bob and all,
this rainy D?sseldorf doesn?t invite to Plymouthing.
As no wood heating:
I retreat into my ca. 30 X 39 ft cellar rooms instead and do
