When I removed my P15 door looks a couple of years ago I put them in a coffee can with at this point an unknown solvent. They were a little gummed up and I was thinking I would soak them for awhile. Unfortunately they stayed in the coffee can for probably 3 or more years. Oh well.., I forgot all about them. When I unearth them to install back in the car they were covered with a stinky green past like oxidation caused by the dissimilar metals of bronze, brass, steel, and stainless. I thought I was screwed. I couldn?t even get the key to go inside the locks. Well I soaked them in WD40 but no big help. I removed the top pin cover and removed all the pins, top, bottom, & springs. Took the locks to work and put them in an ultrasonic bath along with all the piece parts for about 2 hours and then blew them out with high pressure air.
I reassembled the pins and springs and now my door locks are back to working order. Just thought I would share my stupidity and a good save.

Chet?
Praise the minor victories. ;D, and yes, that was a good save.
