Title: Liquidation of 39 Plym parts
Post by: Wm Steed on July 24, 2010, 03:34:38 PM
The rebuilding/restoration of my '39 Plym conv cpe is finally coming to an end. During the almost sixteen years it has taken me to rebuild the car, I found it necessary to purchase a couple of cars for parts and because of poor information from people, I purchased many parts that would not fit a conv. cpe. I am going to start disposing of my excess parts, many of which are very rare... Before I put the parts up for sale on eBay, Craigs-list etc., I thought I would give the members of the POC the first chance at the parts. A partial listing of the more desirable parts I have follows......
Right front fender w/ spare tire well.... excellent condition with most of the hardware. The missing hardware is easy to fabricate from the pictures I have of same. Jager electric clock, very nice.... front/rear bumpers.... front fender guard assy. excellent cond., chrome fair.. complete P8 dash w/instruments.... compl. instrument group assy......complete set of grille stainless trim.... complete set of 4dr sdn stainless trim... 2dr sdn rear qt panel stainless trim...sedan-coupe windshield stainless trim... NOS interior handles.... coupe/conv front seat assy..... battery box.....complete stock head light assy's, reflectors, fender buckets, NOS bezels and NOS lens. NOS tail light assy. License plate light assy w/plym emblem... misc NOS switches, gauges instrument lens.... one complete set of very nice Arrow brand sealed beam conversions..
FOR CONV/STATION WAGON ONLY!!! Windshield wiper motor in good condition..... WS wiper motor remote control cable assy...... WS stainless trim...... VG window operators.....door stainless trim.... 37-38-39 conv cpe right side window frame, VG condition.... 37/41 wind wing stanchions (these stanchions are new Jay Fisher reproductions)
I also have many rust/cancer free body parts.... complete doors for a 4dr sdn, fenders, grille shells, splash pans, side panels, hood panels, floor panels, running boards, ash trays, interior moldings, etc.
Email me if there is any interest by a POC member for any of the parts.... Bill

The RF Fender w/spare tire well and the front fender guard assy sold to a man in Florida last week. I have not listed any of the other parts with any other media other than the POC yet.
For the convertible owners out there... I recently received eight sets of bolts for the '39 Plym convertible top assembly The bolts are and exact replacement for the original bolts, the only differance being that they are made out of aircraft quality stainless steel in lieu of being chrome plated. There is twelve (12) bolts per set. I have a prior commitment for three sets so that leaves nine sets left.. In all probability these bolts are correct for the '37-39 ChryCo built cars with the Briggs bodies.. Contact me via email for pricing and pictures of the bolts.. I will not break the sets up...Bill

this would be a good time for you to write about the experience in a Plymouth Bulletin feature article about 39s - which I have been waiting for. Got any tail light buckets? I am missing just a few pieces of the grill stainless - will you break up the set? Finally, for those who are looking for 39 parts, I am also amost done with my restoration and have a spare radiator, front suspension, rear axle with drums, drive shaft, generator, master brake cylinder, steering column and some fender supports I am wlling to part with.
