Title: '61 fury width of car
Post by: 374161 on March 24, 2006, 06:46:35 PM
??? I'm making arrangements to pick up a '61 Fury, and planned on renting a u-haul trailer to transport it. When making arrangements with u-haul, I'm told the '61 is 80 inches wide and is too wide for the trailer. I've been searching the web for some information (specs) on the car and can't seem to find that info. Can anybody help me find what I'm looking for or tell me that it will fit. U-haul says their trailers are 79 inches wide. Thanks, Bill

If it's help to to you, the overall width of the 1960 Plymouth is 78.6 inches.? Both cars were supposed to be very similar in dimensions, though.? Sounds like a pretty tight fit to me!?

Thanks Joe for the response. It's odd that I find the wheel base(front to rear) of the cars fairly easily but the width of the vehicles is another story. I'm going to have a friend of mine in Canada measure his Belvedere, I should've thought of that sooner.
