Title: 6 volt overdrive relay
Post by: jd2ksilver on March 21, 2006, 12:40:13 PM
Hi all,

I am looking for a overdrive relay for my 52 Cranbrook.  I do have a 12 volt relay but it wont put out enough power to close the points with the six volt system.

Any part number, vendor or any info at all would help.

It is a 4 prong, isolated ground, fused type.

Thanks in advance.

Update,

Found one in Oregon, for a Hudson.

Wish I could find a parts source closer in the future, at least in CA.

There are many mechanical parts still available for your '52 through retail parts stores.? The trick is getting a parts-person to look it up in a paper catalog.? You may want to check out www.p15-d24.com.? It's a very active website focussing on 1946-49 Plymouths and Dodges, but also has a lot of info and discussion on flathead-six Mopars through the mid-fifties.? There is even a parts number section showing modern numbers for older Plymouths and Dodges.

If you have any questions, write me directly at:? ?cranclanAToptonlineDOTnet? ? (put the proper symbols in the email address....this thwarts automated email-address harvesters)

Thanks Harold, I will do that.

Everything is in ready to roll.  Just need that relay, so I guess I can take it off the jack stands and drive it as a regular tranny until it shows up.

Thanks again,

John
