Hi, when looking up parts in Plymouth Commercial Car parts list, covers Model Code PT-105, there is an occasional reference in a part description to: (express) or (all except panel). My question is this: what kind of vehicle or version are they refering to?

Express was the name given to what we commonly call pickups. The panel is a sedan delivery.
Okay, thanks Jim but the sedan delivery (panel), is that also a PT-105? and if so, where could I see a picture of one?
I have just now come back to say that I found pictures and info. on allpar site. They are saying the 1940 sedan delivery was "based on" P-9 Roadking but do not say what its model number actually is, just curious now about this as I cannot see much to be interchangeable with my express.

When it comes to the 1940 SD, I am under the impression that it was based on the P-9 not the P-10
and when u go to a car show and are looking thru the book vendor's boxes for a manual or other items, look under Commercial Car - Plymouth( or Dodge) rather than Pickup - Plymouth. Apparently the term Pickup wasn't used until after WW2. I found a couple of real gems thaT must have been overlooked, for my PT 105.
i think you will find that the 1940-41 Plymouth delivery used the same chassis(frame)and running gear, and body as the 1941 , except that in 41 it had a slightly modified front clip,and a few other minor modifications, all mechanical parts shoud be interchangable, as should be most body parts ,rear of the w/screen , of course lights trim and a few other parts would have had minor changes
The sedan delivery was built on the "truck" chassis in 1937 and 1938. For 1939-40-41 it was based on the cheaper car chassis. A '39 was based on the P7, the 40 on the P9 and the 41 on the P11 chassis. The trucks were PT50 for 1937, PT57 for 1938, PT81 for 1939, PT105 for 1940 and PT125 for 1941. Anything starting with PT was considered a "Commercial Car".....
