Title: The Plymouth name?
Post by: Ken Bartz on November 18, 2005, 09:38:46 PM
What is the official font style for the "Plymouth" word for the POC?? The Chrysler company has also changed the Plymouth font over the years.? Does anyone know the history?

I picked the different font for the web because I was trying to keep it like the previous site but not enough to be accused of "stealing" their design.  I have never seen the font we use for the Bulletin on any Plymouth or plymouth advertising.

Sometimes in advertising they used a Roman looking font - most of the time they used blockfont  like Airal or Helvitica.  The font I used is called HEMI HEAD and was actually very close to the style used in late 60's and early 70's.  It seemed like every time a designer felt like it they would change the Plymouth a little - I would have to say block Helvitica is probably the most used.  I think the only place that the font we use on the Bulletin masthead is there.

As far as official - Ford script is an official design - don't think Plymouth ever had anything like that.
