Title: 1950 Plymouth Fastback Package Tray
Post by: HalfDollarMayflowe on June 30, 2009, 11:27:52 PM
Working on getting my '50 fastback up to snuff...my package tray is long gone, anyone know what they were made of or have pictures to share?

Thanks,

Gary White

Gary,

On my '51 four door sedan, the package shelf is made of a thick card board,
but, of course, not the type that boxes of today are made (not corrugated).
The bottom  --  that faces the trunk interior  --  is "natural".
The top  --  that faces the interior  --  has a color, sort of a blue/gray, and
it has a bit of a grain to it, similar to leather/vinyl.  I can take a photo of it
if you like.  I am not exactly sure how you would reproduce it.  You might
want to go to a "mom & pop" type upholstery shop and see what they
have to use on your package shelf.
