Title: '59 Savoy moulding clips
Post by: JoeT on June 15, 2009, 12:08:18 PM
I need some moulding clips for the 1-3/8 wide moulding at the base of the rear window on my '59 Savoy. These are "V" shaped with a threaded stud and a sealing nut. I checked Restoration Specialties and the clips are similar to P/N 2946 on page 144 of their catalog. Is that the same clip? Also, I filled a few rust pinholes in the recess that the moulding covers except for two holes near the ends of the recess that were covered with mud. Are there small drain holes at both ends of the recess, or am I looking at rust holes? These seem to be at the lowest point of the recess. I'm tempted to fill these in, but any water that gets under the moulding would be trapped in the recess. Can anyone provide guidance? Much obliged.  Joe T.
