Title: Avatar problems...
Post by: Plymouth-guy on April 08, 2009, 11:32:52 PM
I dont know why my avatar wont stay. I enter the correct address for it in the correct space on the correct page and hit the correct button. It shows on that page, but as soon as I go to one of the threads, it isnt there. I know its no big deal, but now its pissing me off and I need to know...

I am guessing it may be pending approval by the board administrator?

I have the same problem. I switched from one of the choices of the pre-selected avatars to one of my own cars.

You might have to refresh you web browser's cache...

Just went in poking around and realize that my avatar photo is actually hosted on my server and all that this forum has is a link to that image. This means that the server you have your image on also needs to be configured to allow images to be pulled from browsers pointing to other sites. Not all servers are set up that way.

Problem no more.  7KB sized avatar is just what the doctor ordered.

Attach the aviatar file to an amail to me and I will put it on our server - I know it will work then.

For some unknown reason, link Avatars don't always work - if I put them in the Avatar directory - they work.  It should be okay now.

So much for having a unique avatar. Oh well, thanks Mark.

Actually, there is no such thing as a Unique Avatar.  Anyone can copy anyone's Avatar and use it from any source.
