Title: ignition cylinder
Post by: stovebolt on February 12, 2009, 12:22:52 PM
Hello Everyone
? ? ?Can anyone tell me how to remove the ignition lock cylinder from my 1950 Plymouth Deluxe. It was loose and I saw what I thought was a missing set screw from looking under the dash ,replaced the screw and ,I guess, warped the ignition switch . Now the ignition key binds and will not spring back. I ordered a? new switch and key . Thanks for any help.

with the switch unit out of the dash, turn the key to the ON position, then depress the pin you see on the housing while pulling out on the key, the lock cylinder will then come out.

When re installing, you must be careful that the set screw is not too long, or it will bind the key.
