Title: Anyone That Knew My Previous Owners
Post by: Pandanom on December 06, 2008, 10:08:56 AM
Hello,
I am trying to recapture some history on my 1937 Plymouth for a book I am keeping on the car for future owners. It seems simple since the car had one owner since 1937 but I know nothing of the owners. If there is anyone left that remembers these people I would love to know anything at all about them. I know they were members of this group but the membership roles do not show them.
The car was purchased new in 1937 by Ronald MacKenzie in Chicago, Illinois. His wife's name was Joan. From what few receipts I have I know their address was 4698 W98th street, Oaklawn, Illinois. Ronald passed away in 2000 leaving the car to his nephew in Fort Myers, Florida. The nephew ended up selling the car to a car dealer in SW Illinois from whom I purchased it about a year ago or less.
I did see an article on this forum entitled "The Richardson Pan-American Expedition to Cape Horn" in which Ron and Joan were mentioned as having found the whereabouts of the participants of the Expedition since the drivers were from Chicago.
If Joan is alive I would love to send her photos of what I have done to the car. I have kept it original and have restored it. Hopefully someone on here will remember them and share with me some knowledge of them.
Have a great Plymouth weekend. Get out and drive your cars.
