Does anybody have a source for parking lamp gaskets for 49 Plym P-18? Steele and Bernbaum don't seem to carry them.
Thanks
U can get some gasket paper, or cork or rubber at NAPA and make your own. I have done that several times.
Dear Don,
With a spot punch unsed to make holes in a belt You can get fine holes for the skrews. Make holes first, cut the margin afterwards. For some applications Ilike to use the rubber of an old tire tube.
I got an inexpensive set of (sorry, don?t find the name) punch irons: strong tubes, shapend at one end and closed at the other to hit it with a hammer into the gasket material.. Above the sharp end is an oval access hole to pry the punched out little discs out. Took a fast foto: in the smallest punch You can still see the punched out paper disc.
Greetings! Go
when i restored my 37 i used a old inner tube for all the exterior gaskets , door handles tail light ,headlights etc. to cut them i used a combination of sharp scissors, a box knife ( ithink that is what you guys call it,the one that was banned from all aircraft ) and a set of gasket punch's.
