my 51`- s(conertible)  ignition lock cylinder haone niely accessible hex skrew in six o?clock position, Just loosen, as I remember, lock than comes out towards engine. Problem are the wires, which may be dried out. Don?t know if the door and ign cylinders are identical, but  my keys were.

Good Luck! Go.

the squarish headed key is for the doors and ignition, and the round was for the trunk.  I recall that feature was a selling point at my fathers dealership. Ford and maybe Chevy owners needed 2 keys to get going if the doors were locked.
