Where should I go to get the radio and hood emblems restored (plated). I had the rest of the chrome/ nickel work done by Paul's Chrome Plating. They did an excellent job on everything including the pot metal restoration. There were a couple of items that were not perfect and they redid them without any questions. They even paid for the return shipping.
I did not know if there were specialty houses that dealt with these more delicate parts. I can do the painting; I am just looking for the plating. I checked with emblem magic. They only do cloisonn?.
Also, it is obvious the radio emblem is painted. Was the background on the hood emblem painted too?

If you were happy with Paul's, why would you send these items anywhere else?
Emblem Magic would not be the place for these items. Now, if you were having the radiator medallion re-done, then they may be a consideration.
I wasn't sure about sending them to Paul's because of the relatively delicate nature of these items. I did not know if there was an equivalent to a "jewelry store" for these types of things...or if this job is considered "regular" chrome plating. I would not want to send my Rolex watch to the local blacksmith/ welding shop for repair because I did not know there was such a thing as a jewelry store!? :)
Also, the only problems I had with Paul's was breaking the studs off the back of the radio grill and the tabs of the backs of the wiper escutcheon plugs. The studs on the backs of these are tiny in comparison.
I would only hope the Paul's would handle any part with the same interity that they seem to be so proud of. Also, being a repeat customer should add up to something.
As far as I know, there are no specialty shops that only handle small delicate items, but I could be wrong too!
