Title: Kroil-on exhaust manifold bolts-1939
Post by: DENNIS P NOLAN on February 27, 2008, 09:43:29 AM
I am somewhat certain that the exhaust manifold on my P-8 is original-almost 70 years on those bolts securing the manifold. I bought Kroil (as suggested here), soaked the bolts a couple of times.' Went in last night and put a socket on them....started to come right off....unbelieveable!!...Thank you again to the members that helped...Dennis

I recently restored a 1945 MB Army Jeep with "Combat Rims" these are the kind that are bolted together. Anyway I soaked them in Kroil for about a week, everyday I would go an put a few drops on the bolts and tap it with a hammer. A week later they came apart. Great stuff.

Kroil is great stuff, I use the Aerokroil in the large 16oz. spray cans. They run specials online at www.kanolabs.com
You can get a free can when buying one large can.
There is one penetrant that is better in high heat areas. You can get it at www.mousemilk.com
I have used Mousemilk for 30 years but keep Kroil mostly because it is cheaper and almost as good.
