I have just resumed restoration on my dad's 1956 Plymouth Suburban Station Wagon, and have been unable to find some information.
1) The rear view mirrors on the front fenders are missing, and I have been unable to find replacements.? They are conical in shape, and are mounted on stalks about two or three inches above the fenders.? I am new to this discussion group, so I don't know how to post the photo.
2) The four barrel carburetor needs to be replaced on the 277-V-8 engine.? I am not sure what options are out there for replacement carburetors for this engine.? I have been steered wrong and sold inappropriate materials and supplies by a certain mail order house, so am wary of their advertisements, and I have been unable to find anything useful from Hemmings.

According to the parts book the fender mounted rear veiw mirrors were an accessory , i assume by this it is meant they were available on request from the factory or as a dealer fitted option, the part # for them is B1697-210. there is a web site you can visit that specializes in soucing cars and parts for the older cars. it is www.jaxed.com if you have the model # of your carb you can also try to find that on it . according to the parts book your car being a P29 V8 used 4 different carbs they are 2299S/ 2274S/ 2407S/2302S

for carbs try langdon stovebolt they may not have what you want but if you speak to them they may point you in the right direction thay are great guys
