Title: Source for radiators for U 1929 model
Post by: CHALTEN on November 27, 2007, 07:28:58 PM
Hello everyone,
My restoration is going nowhere. The carpenter/ebanist who was re-making of the wooden parts, got brain damage. Yesterday I went to his garage to try to figure out where and what was mine. It will be rather difficult to start again.
Meanwhile, I was having the radiator repaired, but apparently it is not possible. Down here I can only get similar ones to Ford As, but nothing like Plys. Does anyone know a source for such in the US? or really NOS for sale? not a used one in good condition.

let me know.

In response to your radiator problem....
There are several company's here in the States that make and/or remake radiators for antique cars/trucks. One company in particular... BRASSWORKS ()   805 544-8841..They are located in San Louis Obispo, CA.. They specializes in Ford Model T/A brass radiators, they also advertise that they do Dodge Brothers radiators.

I have a friend that has a 1913 Ford Model T, his car is a 99 + point car, he recently won first place trophies  in two Model T shows. The radiator in his car was built by BrassWorrks. He is a perfectionist to the maxxxxxx. Perfect is not good enough for him.

On the wood problem.... I would suggest that you contact.... Patrick Dolan... .  Patrick is very knowledgeable on the '28/31 Plym's. In October I transported an almost complete set of wood for a '28/29 Plym to Patrick.. I am sure he would have patterns which you could use to identify you parts.
When you contact Patrick, mention that I suggested you get in touch with him....Bill
