Post by: 53coe on November 14, 2007, 10:34:43 AM
Is there any one here going to the Daytona rod run on Thanksgiving weekend. It's at the Speedway at Daytona Beach FL. Good show, always over 5K cars there and more venders then you can see in one day.. Wayne, Hudson, FL.? 1950 P-20

I'd like to go (and sell that stupid truck of mine).  Sadly my family thinks I want to spend time with them.  Bums.

Well, looks like at least two POC members will be at the Turkey Run with their Plymouths.  I have attended The Turkey run 4 or 5 times now and enjoy it to the fullest.  I plan to be there early Friday morning and stay all week-end. Do you go down on the Main Drag Friday and Saturday night?  That is as much fun as the show itself.  Maybe we  will meet there. When you see a little black 40 Plymouth Business Coupe with "Maine" registration plates that will be me.  Oh yes, those wide whitewall ties on my coupe will blind you.  Hope to see you there.   Ping

I'll keep an eye out for you. I'm taking my dark blue 4 dr., 50 Ply., but I mostly drive my tow vec. for my RV. Watch for a 53 Ford COE, dark blue with sleeper. dual stacks. I hope to enter it in the flame shooting contest. You refer to the Main Drag, do you mean out on the beach side where every one cruises-?. Thanks, Wayne

I need a spare wheel for my 50 P-20, if any one is going to Daytona that has an extra wheel they want to sell I would like to buy it, I'll be there and you could call me on my cell and I could meet you some where. Thanks, Wayne, cell 727-389-3748

I've gone a few times and probably will skip this year.  Although the amount of cars is worth the trip, I was disappointed that I couldn't find a single old Plymouth vendor.  There may have been some odd parts here and there in the swap area, but anyone thats gone knows how hard it would be to visit them all and search their inventory.  It seems like the only mopar support out there was for 60's era cars.  Just my observation.
