Title: Looking for a George Barris Custom 1953 Plymouth Belvedere
Post by: XmikeyX on October 20, 2007, 02:37:19 AM
I know most of the members on this board are restorers, but I had to ask Plymouth guys if they know of this car. In 1957 George Barris customized a 1953 Plymouth Belvedere. I attached a picture of waht it looked like in 1957. The original owner who it was built for sold it 1962 to a guy who a year after buying the car was killed(not in the car). I spoke with the original owner by doing some heavy research, but he doesnt know what happened to it after the guy died. If anyone knows of this car please contact me ASAP!!

Thanks
Mikey

Have you tried contacting Barris himself?  He's still around and might know where it is....

What part of the country did it wind up in, Mike.   Might be helpful to know the area......maybe someone there saw it, knows where it ended up or went.

I tried Barris. They have no record of them car anymore. The last time the original owner saw the car was when he sold it to a guy in East LA, CA with the last name Del-Rio. He says he heard about a year later that guy was killed somehow, but not in the car.

Thats all the info I have on the car.
