Title: 1939 on jack stands-?
Post by: DENNIS P NOLAN on August 02, 2007, 11:51:56 PM
I live in the Phoenix area and will have suspension work done to my '39 P-8 in the fall ..My question: Should I elevate the car with stands up off the ground??or just enough to reduce the weight from the suspension?..and will jacking this up on stands by the frame,in any way mis-align the doors??Thanks...D

My 52 has been on stands for almost 3 years and the doors, hood and trunk open and close just fine.? Rear is on Differential, and front on frame

If the frame is in good condition - no rust out problems - supporting the vehicle on jack stands under the frame will cause no problems whatsoever. My D2 was on stands for 2+ years with no distortion at all.
