With my 1940 Plymouth I have a chance to get original fender skirts, It has has original Plymouth badges , He did tell me that he was =not sure if they are exactly 1940 badges but says they are prewar and would of been put on in 1940 if you asked the dealer too. Is this correct? and if this car was to be judge would the badges give a point or Lose a point or would having them on be a mistake on a 1940 Plymouth ? Or no differance ? sorry for the ? but I need to know
Darren - I have two 1940 accessory booklets (issued on different dates showing different equipment). Unfortunately I revised my filing system and can't find them!!! But I will keep looking. I have seen a '42 Plymouth with skirts with the same emblem. Whether these are factory or
aftermarket I can't say. Skirts on that early a car are very rare - and a personal preference. I'll email the fellow that has the car with them on and get further information for you....
Regardless of factory vs aftermarket.....I like them.

I like to thank Mr. Jim Benjaminson for putting me on the right track! I have a book called CARS of the FASCINATING '40s by the auto editors of consumer guide page 105 show indead! a 4 door and a convertable with the same fender skirt badge! . I really thought the were from the 35 airfolow design , I recomend these books to all . now if I only could find some stainless window deflectors!
