Title: 'Nother '40 Deluxe Question
Post by: dvanvorst on May 21, 2007, 10:35:06 PM

Hello everyone
Hope you guys can help.
I'm replacing all the dash knobs in my '40. It has three heater controls down and to the right of the steering wheel. They've all been replaced with wooden knobs and have no labels.
1. Were they an ivory color with black lettering?
2. Are the correct labels 'HEATER", 'FAN' and 'DEFROST'?
I've only seen the knobs for a 46 or 48 Deluxe. I'm not sure if they used the same knobs or not.
Any info would be appreciated as there are very few pictures of the original interiors of these cars around.
Thanks
Dan

Dan,
I have a '41 so I don't know what is correct for the '40. However I do have three control knobs for the heater/defroster on a control panel that is attached to the bottom of the dash. They are ivory color and shaped like the other dash knobs and they are different from the ones used on the post war p15's. I was lucky enough to stumble on a box of these three knobs (NOS) at Hershey one year.

Question:

was this set up an option?

My P-10 doesn't have this set up.

Could it be possible for you to email me a photo of it?

Thanks,
Bob
