I talked to the people who sell this kit. They say the opening for the kit to fit us 1.5 inches.  My car is across town in a garage until the snow is gone so I can't check the radiator fill opening to check its diameter but maybe even if it's different I could make this kit work.

Good find. I wonder how close the Ford radiator fill diameter is to that on our Plymouths. I am hoping it is close enough.

General Discussion / Plymouth Belvedere 11 first pr...
Last post by Sss1984 - March 02, 2024, 03:56:33 PM
Hello everyone.
I'm after some historical information about the Belvedere 11 1966-67 model.

I need to find out when the first of this model was produced. So far the only information I can find is 1966 model year
. But I need to know the first cars production date. I'm hoping its late 1965 but marked as a 1966 model year.

The reason is I have built and race one here in England but most of our classic race series state the model has to have been produce before January 1st 1966.

Fingers crossed someone may be able to help or tell me where I can get this information.

I would also be really interested in any history of the Belvedere 2 being raced in the 60s but not in nascar.

Thanks for your help in advance.

General Discussion / Your favorite Plymouth model

I'm new to vintage cars. What's your favorite Plymouth model from 1928-2001, and why does it stand out for you in the world of classic automobiles?

A long while back (decades) I saw some radiator cap repair kits in a swap meet. If I recall correctly, they consisted of a gasket, washer like spring and maybe some other bits. I suspect that type of kit would be pretty hard to find today. So I think you may have to make something.

When I get home, I can take the reproduction radiator cap I got about 10 years ago apart and photograph the pieces. If I recall correctly, they modified a cup style core plug to use as part of the setup. The proprietor of that vendor passed away a number of years ago, otherwise I'd recommend you simply go the them.

In any event, I think you may have to create something from scratch.

General Discussion / 1933 pd deluxe radiator cap
Last post by Emerica1975 - March 01, 2024, 05:31:30 PM
Hello.  I'm new to this club so if I have posted in the wrong place I apologize. My question is this.
I have a 1933 pd deluxe. The flying lady hood ornament / radiator cap I had was stolen off my car awhile back and I finally found a new flying lady but she's missing the radiator cap assembly. Can someone point me in the right direction on where to get one?  Thanks.

Technical Discussion / 41 PT 125 Fuel Line Routing
Last post by PT Moe - February 18, 2024, 02:17:00 PM
1941 Ply PT125. Not sure if we have a current Plymouth Commercial tech advisor so posting here.
Got my rebuilt flathead back in the frame and am now trying to figure out my gas line routing. Looking at pictures I took back in the late '70's when I took the truck apart I think I got it somewhat figured out but would appreciate any verification. Looks like it comes out of the tank and goes through a riveted clip under the frame just behind the battery, Up along the outside of the frame through another riveted clip and up over the front shock mount to the front of the frame crossmember that supports the motor mount and turns back on the passenger side to a flex line at the fuel pump. Does not look like much room at the bottom of frame crossmember with the harmonic balancer and the radiator support that bolts there. Also, the line was spliced part way with copper so it may not have been routed as original. Running 5/16 NiCopp line. Thanks for any help.  Jeff
